Fitted with a 12.5hp Briggs & Stratton engine, it performs efficiently in all working conditions with power to spare. The 5-speed manual transmission on the Mountfield 1228M features a 'soft start' clutch for smooth engagement every time the clutch is released. A powerful 28" (71cm) working width cutter deck ensures perfect grass cutting and collection whatever the conditions.Grass clippings are discharged to the rear of the machine; this keeps the overall width to a mere 30" (76cm). The 170 litre capacity rear mounted collector can be emptied from the driving position. An audible alarm notifies the operator when the collector is full.
